Farm Assistance Program
The Farm and Landowner Assistance Program provides education, technical, and in some instances financial assistance to local farm owners, agricultural producers, and private landowners. Our vision is to improve farm viability, production, and soil and water quality in a non-regulatory way.

Manure Share Program
The Pierce Conservation District maintains a contact list of local livestock farms with more manure than they can utilize on their farms. This list is available to local gardeners and crop farmers so that they can obtain manure, which is not only a source of nutrients, but also provides needed organic matter and micro-nutrients not found in commercial fertilizer.

Cover Cropping
A cover crop is a crop planted primarily to manage soil erosion, soil fertility, soil quality, water, weeds, pests, diseases, biodiversity and wildlife in an agroecosystem. Pierce County Conservation District offers technical, financial, cost share assistance to farmers in Pierce County using cover crops and provides rental of a no-till drill for seeding
