John Hopkins’s Biography: I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Math and Physics at London University. I taught high school before moving to America. Here I transitioned into the electrical industry, taught trade school, and became a contractor. More recently, I have focused on community service. I am past President and Treasurer of Puyallup Main Street. I have been the Pierce County Landmarks Commission Chairperson and was a Puyallup Councilman and Mayor. Currently I am Chairperson of Friends of the Riverwalk, was elected to the Pierce Conservation District Board of Supervisors and now hold the Auditors office. I also volunteer with many charitable organizations.
John Hopkins’s Statement: Pierce Conservation District is the gold standard of Conservation Districts. I am proud of my four years serving as board member, auditor, committee member, and volunteer. We now have a very productive team. We efficiently administer beneficial programs. It’s time to expand on these successes. Time is not on our side. Global warming and environmental degradation happen faster than restoration improvements. We need to educate everyone…especially the decision makers, and funding providers. We must restore what’s damaged and reverse harmful trends. I believe my presence on our team can make a positive difference. I respectfully ask for your vote.
