Interested in improving your grazing management? Pierce Conservation District lends out two types of temporary electric fence – Gallagher SmartFence II and Premier1 Electronetting. From chickens to cattle, these options can help you try more intensive pasture management before committing to permanent infrastructure or costly equipment.
The district also has the following electric fencing tools available for loan: Wire payout spinner, in-line wire tightener, 3-hole wire tightening tool, strainer handle, post hole digger, ironwood post pounder.
There is no rental fee associated with the electric fencing or tools, but a $50 refundable deposit is required. To reserve this equipment or for more information, contact your area’s farm program specialist. If you try the electric fence and decide this system is right for you, PCD’s Farm Team may be able to work with you to secure funding for your purchase of this new equipment.
